Elizabeth and Neal Atkinson Park

A 0.4 acre park on Houston’s Buffalo Bayou which features a hike and bike trail, elevated pedestrian bridge, and canoe/kayak launch.

 

Atkinson Park was settled by the first settlers to Houston in the 1820s.

During the late 1800s the neighborhood had many commercial operations such as compresses to pack and load cotton for shipment, a neighborhood brick factory, and a tannery.

 
 

Located at east of Houston’s Central Business District at the Jensen Drive bridge over Buffalo Bayou.
